for steam engines that did not smoke.

Most non-brass steam that is out today are not smoke unit ready. They use that space for more weight or whatever. If you like steam, HO is the best way to go. There are plenty of well made steamer out now, and more on the way. As long as you have the money.

The Trix or Rivarossi 4-8-8-4 should need about 26" radius minimum (which makes them too large for my layout).

I have a Rivorossi Big Boy and it will navigate an 18" Radius Curve, However it looks very akward doing so.

The Articuleds such as the Big Boy needs about 26" or better in HO. I can get one around a 18" too, but looks very stupid doing so.

HO is better than N for those who have shaky hands and or poor eyes. I am glad for the quality of O is getting better so I can go Bigger someday.

Good Luck!

Yes I am here to answer every question you have on the Big Boys[:D], thanks to all the info I got from the other people on this forum (thanks guys!). Do you want a Trix or Rivarossi? (any true big boy lover would want both[;)])

Yes![:)][:p][:D][8D][:)][:p][^] That's just the info I needed![:p] How old is yours? I'm thinking about getting a new one. I wonder if the new ones can take as small a turns as the old ones.......(I should think so).......
