Hi guys

I know I should be more specific but what are some types of freight cars that ran on CN and CP railroads in 1980's.

Cylindrical Grain hoppers...Combination plugdoor boxcars (one plugdoor and one slide door side by side)...Hopper cars...general mishmash cars of almost all makes and models...BUT.

As with almost all of the pre 2000 canadian stuff it was different that what you would find on any US railroad. Most of which you cannot get as a RTR Athearn model. You will have to do some kitbashing or use Craftsman Kits to get some good models of the prototype.

Intermountian does offer kits and RTR versions of Canadian Cylindrical grain hoppers, and some other canadian cars.

A good source of informatino is the book series, Canadian Rail Car Pictorial. I bought mine at my local hobby shop, but you can write to the publisher at :

The Times Press Limited, Calgary, Alberta T2G 2A9

The series was published from 1997 to 2001, so the info if recent.
