I'm modeling the Missouri Pacific White River Division between Cotter, AR and Branson, MO, circa 1950's. I was wondering if anyone else out there is modeling the MOP Lines somewhere in that vicinity? It would be nice to exchange information.

Not in that area. but I grew up near a MOP roundhouse in southern Illinois (Pinckneyville) on their Chester to Mt. Vernon line. When I was in grade school I would ride my bicycle out to the MOP roundhouse and the hostler would let me ride around in the engines as he shuttled them from coal to sand to water to turntable. Most of them were Mikados and Mountains. The MOP also ran a rail bus on the line that everyone called "the dinky." Sometimes they had enough passengers to hook a coach onto it. The last I ever saw of the dinky it was sitting abandoned in a large MOP yard in Dupo, Illinois, just south of East St. Louis, rusting away. It had been made by St. Louis Car Company and looked similar to the Bachmann Spectrum Doodlebug. I have been hoping Bachmann would decorate their doodlebug for the MOP, but probably won't because it was not a GM product like the one they are selling. Ah, memories!
