I finally took my B&O Proto 2000 0-6-0 out of its box and installed a decoder today as well as putting in kadee 58's. That is one fine model. Right out of the box it performed flawlessly. It just crawls! It looks nicer than any plastic or brass locomotive I have ever owned. If you are thinking about getting one of these, pull the trigger. I couldn't be more impressed with a plastic HO engine ( if you couldn't tell [:D]). - Nevin

Thanks for the tip. I'll check it out. Where did you purchase it?

I havent had any experience w/ P2K steam, but I have their FA1, FB1 set and am very pleased. I added
Soundtraxx decoder to the A unit and Digitrax decoder to the B unit. Dave

I love my 0-6-0 too! The "crawl" is really impressive. Using a Tech 2 1400 I can make the engine take more than 5 seconds between EACH TIE! That's impressive slow speed, great for taking up slack between couplers...

All the P2K steam is really impressive - the big 2-8-8-2, the 0-8-0 and the 0-6-0. And they all run great. I have one of each.

The 0-6-0 certainly runs much better than the 0-6-0 racers that I had growing up in the seventies.

Later...

The P2K line is some pretty good stuff. I have a GP30 and an SD60. Have been thinking about getting one of their steamers too. Hmmm??

How does it do sorting cars? What is the maximum it can handle?

Just bought my third and I'm looking for number four. The 0-6-0 runs smoother and slower than P2ks 0-8-0s. I know because I've got four of the 0-8-0s too. I think the reason for this is the 0-6-0s have power pick-up in the tender where the 0-8-0s don't. I just picked up four 0-6-0 tenders for my 0-8-0s, should make them run better. I think the P2ks are even better than brass when you factor in the price.

I have the Y3 and it runs pretty good. Can haul about 32 loaded hoppers on my layout, so its not really a power hog.
