i found a really good forum awhile ago with some really good pictures on them off of google. i can't find that site again. it was one of the first links on the google search i did. it has a ton of really good pictures of locomotives and trains. it had a number of different sub forums but now i can't figure out what site it is. there are tons of people there and tons of pictures.

does anyone know a good site for pictures. i want to get ideas of what i want for my layout.

Thanks

Jim

Just type in the search " model railroad " and up pops all kinds of sites to go to. Penn. state college has a pretty good show of pictures of past and present layouts. I've been searching for pictures of total layouts. They are hard to find for some reason. Most pictures are of someones trian or the side of a mountain or a small section of a town. Also people seem to be hung up on the idea of copying some real town or a real train layout as it really exists, but I think its much more fun to create and invent realistic, but non-existant towns. I started railroading the HO scale when I was 15 or 16. When I graduated High School I packed it up and carried it with me all the years of my life until last month around Thanksgiving. I'm 37 now and finally restarting my old passion. Now that I am older and I have lots of junk I can put together a much nicer and realistic looking set than I did when I was a kid. If you do find a good site with layout sites let me know. Brian

i found the site. its mainly of locomotives but that will work for me. railpictures.net. i'm 17 now and i hope to continue my layout in college. depending on where i go. if i move to the Twin Cities like i plan to i'll keep my layout at home here and work on it on vacations. if i move to southern wisconsin or out west in like South Dakota or North Dakota i'll probably bring it with me. or just start over.
