Where do you get the walthers cab or coaches from. They're very hard to find in njt schemes, or they're always on back order ?

I found a LHS in Piscataway, NJ (The Model Railroad Shop) that had some; I also saw some at The Red Caboose in Manhattan. It looks like the cabs are in stock on Walthers.com; no trailers, though.

Thank you, Ever since I bought an f40 spectrum with njt scheme I could'nt find the cars to go with it. Thanks !

It wasn't a ban you could get permits for taking pictures, also now you can just take pictures as long as you have ID becauese NJT police will probably question you. This is what the NJT police said when called. And YES it is legal to model NJT otherwise walthers and Bachman would have to stop producing there models in NJT paint.

Is it legal to model NJT?  They had a photo ban would think they would ban any models and confiscate any layouts as terrorist planning modules?

I model a fictonal mass trainsit line in a fictional metropolis in Ontario. A few of the horizon cars on my line are supposed to be ex-NJT and have not been repainted yet only re-lettered.

Cheers!

I guess you could say I model NJT; I don't have a Transit layout to run on, but I've picked up a bunch of NJT models: Atlas U34CH, a couple of the Bachmann F40PH-2s, and a bunch of the Walters Comet coaches (three cabs, four coaches).

I've also got a lot of stuff around for when I finally get started on kitbashing; I want to end up with a couple of GP40FH-2s (bashed from an Athearn GP40-2), an ALP-46 (bashed from a Roco DB101), F40PH-2CATs (the F40s after they had a separate HEP motor added), and turn some of the cars into Comet III/IVs. Someday, I hope to kitbash a GP40P/GP40PH, and I have a lot of stuff that I could paint up as NJT: some other road Horizon cars and a couple of undec ALP-44s (the NJT factory-painted ones fetch too high a price on eBay for me).

While I don't model this area, a Model Trains Magazine Index search found quite a few who do...

I do subways, but it's the freelance Moose Bay Transit Authority, loosely (loose as a Moose, in fact) based on the NYC and Boston systems in the 1960's.  There are a few other mass-transit types around, too.  Give 'em some time and they'll come out of their tunnels.
