I,m looking for a MODEL RAILROADER MAGAZINE issue . I think it ran in a mid to late 80,s or early 90,s issue. I do not remember the rail name or the gentlemen the article was about. I think the layout was apx. 8ft. x 2-3ft wide in the corner of his garage. He had index cardes of all his rolling stock. He would pull x amount of cards out to make up a switching order & build it. He would also have timed contests to see who could build their order quicker.
Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank You, JCMRR

That's the John Allen Timesaver. There are many variations of it, but just try a search for John Allen Timesaver.
