Great work...finally sold all of my HO collection this weekend at the swap meet in Simi Valley. Great club and swap meet show. No excuses on with N scale and should get my mounting brackets up for my benchwork this coming weekend.

These two cars are Athern undecorated  40' single-dome tank cars custom painted & decaled. I got these at one of our clubs swap-meets years ago.

Probably doesn't make much sense, huh? Here's a link to the track plan - that will help a lot:

Wow!  Your passengers may get dizzy, though.

tomkat-13, May I ask where you aquired the MKT tankers ?  I'm modeling the MKT from Smithville TX to Taylor TX in 1952.

Thanks,

Tom

This weekend was there was only time for a couple parties and some practice on the Stratocaster.  I did get some train watching and note taking in for my Canadian Pacific/Soo modeling.  Next weekend I'm hoping to get some detail work in on my Athearn SD60s.

Cheers!

Are you sure you're using IE6.0? Go to "Help" then "About Internet Explorer" and see if you really are using 6.0 or maybe your PC was upgraded to 7.0.

I'm also using IE6.0 and I've never had a problem with posting pictures. Here's your picture in a link format:

don z, this is weird, I was trying to do the same thing. I am using IE6, and it is still throwing in the extra parameters so the picture wont show. this may be a glitch that bergie might need to know about. It may not be just IE7

Bxcarmike,

Is this what you're trying to show?

Are you using Internet Explorer 7.0? That is probably the reason your post didn't work.

Still no layout photos here as I am still in planning phase on my layout. I did how ever get a new gp-50 for my birthday. It is in norfolk-southern livery, but will be repainted along with all my motive power as soon as I get a scheme planned with the layout. Great photos from everyone, keep them coming. Its this thread that really keeps one motivated to get the track plan done and start building.

Good work again this week guys. I love this thread.

Jon, nice job of weathering those cars. I love the buildings in the background too!

Not much new on the BRVRR this week, but I did get to run a few trains earlier today.

The first photo is of east bound NYC Mike #9519 with a coal train of 12-cars and a caboose as it passed Grafton Tower.

The second is of NYC Hudson #5335 at the head of a 9-car mail and express, eastbound on the inner mainline at the same location.

.

Keep up the good work guys. I need the ideas.

Remember its your railroad

The quonset hut from that kit won't fit in that spot on the layout, so I haven't put it together yet.  Thanks for showing yours - it's nice to see how it will look put together.  Here are a few more shots of the tank farm and loading rack from different angles.  Still a bit of pink foam showing in this corner of the layout, I'm afraid.

I also put together about a hundred feet of timber wall this afternoon.  Sure is easier in 1:87 than it would have been in real life.

It's been some time since i've had something worth posting.

It's shaping up to be a rough day for commuters in North Worcester. Because North Ave. Bridge construction is so far behind schedule, work had to be done duing the daytime. Today, one lane is closed to install the stonework on one of the bridge abutments. A gravel truck sits waiting in the breakdown lane on the other side. As a result, all traffic is using one lane. The police officer is vigilant as he controls traffic, but doesn't watch the workers behind him. It doesn't look like this job will be moved any closer to schedule; the workers brought beer! Unfortunately, it seems the taxi has gotten stuck behind a smelly sanitation truck.

People in N. Worcester are now seriously considering using the commuter rail service that will travel over the new bridge! :-)

As always, nice work everyone.

While waiting to complete the rest of my benchwork due to plan changes, I've put my hand to the models I've been accumulating. I've started on the Walthers Interstate Fuel & Oil. The tanks are now assembled and hope to get them painted today. MisterBeasely, I believe I saw a detail picture from you in WFP last weekend -  nice and would love to see the rest of it ?

Plan changes: After a month of vacation I managed to complete track work on my lower level.  It was (note past tense) a staging level but I had made the mistake in starting to scenic it. Then got carried away with more and more scenery and started to plan just a few structures.

Long story short, we placed the first module of the upper deck in place and it was too low and too deep for viewing and reach - Banged Head [banghead].  We even tried to raise it. So, the lower level will become the main and only level. Gave up the helix (why am I not sad) but did have to add a lift out which will be modeled after the bridge crossing the Colorado river in La Grange Tx.  Was able to add a TT and RH in Smithville and this weeked, BINGO - met someone who worked on the Katy (now an engineer on UP) in Smithville who has the plans for all the track layout and the RR back when the Katy was there.

So, mistake on my part has led to a vast improvement.

Evolve or perish.

Regards,

Tom

I am 19 and recently got an airbrush for my birthday so I painted and decaled some Athearn reefers in the UP white schemes. For my first attempt at airbrushing and decaling I was pleased with my efforts. I am planning on putting a light weathering coat on them eventually.
