Turn off email notification/change email?

When you reply to a thread, there is a small box at the bottom of the the reply page that says, "Email me replies to this post".  It is checked by default.  Uncheck the box by clicking on it (like I just did) and you will not get a mailbox full of replies from the post.

At the top of each thread in the left hand corner are three buttons.  The third one is notify.  It may appear greyed out.  Click that in each topic for which you are receiving e-mail notifications.  That shouold clear the problem.

Not a train topic, but I sure could use some forum help!

I turned off in my profile the option to get notification when replies are posted but that was three days, 50+ messages ago. How do I deactivate this feature? Anyone else having trouble?

Also in my profile I don't see where I can change my email address. I am willing to switch to a secondary account in hopes this issue might blow over.
