Sometimes some forum members are critical when an old thread is ressurected (the original post was in 2006) but if you get that flack then pay them no heed.

Old threads and old books have one thing in common, they're NEW until you've read them.

Ditto on the welcome, GNGuy. You have been a member for seven years and this is your first post? I hope you don't wait another seven until your next one Big Smile

Jump right in! Ed

Hi GNGUY:

First, welcome to the forums!!     Welcome

I'm glad you solved your problem. I also want to congratulate you for using the forum search engine (or maybe Google?) to find a relevant thread.

Sometimes some forum members are critical when an old thread is ressurected (the original post was in 2006) but if you get that flack then pay them no heed.

Please tell us more about your model railroading and your club.

All the best

Dave

This was very helpfull as I had the same DCC problem.  Unfortunately our club does not allow 03 as an address.  so I had to change the stock car decoder's address (don't worry if decoder pro doesn't recognize it it will write the new address anyway) to the car number 5318.  Then when I want to run I first acquire 5318 then release it and acquire my loco consist number.  This works as long as the power is not interrupted.  If so then you need to start over acquiring 5318 first then the loco.  A pain but at least I now have cows bawling in DCC.

Well, duh!  Yeah, you gotta feed 'em, dude.  They're critters, after all.

It takes an iron man to play with a toy iron horse.

Smile [:)] thanks for pointing me in the right direction (away from the magnet reset). re-quiring it like a loco #03 did the trick. the critters are bawling for hay.

Yes!  Mine ran well for an hour or so then got weaker and started to blank out at certain points on my layout (not so with engines or passenger cars).  I sent an email to Broadway & got a reply the next day!  Several emails back & forth & they told me to sent it to them for service.  I havn't gotten it back yet, but their quick response to my emails has me very optimistic & waiting for it to return.  My grandson loved it, by the way!!

Just got it back from BLI - sounds great!!!  Grandson coming to visit in 2 weeks - cant wait for him to see/hear it again!!  Thanks BLI!!

I remember a thread about the cars sense motion and tend to sound off during transit movements.  If that does not work, email or call BLI.  They are very helpful.

Are you leaving the address of the cattle car in your thottle so that you can acquire it from time to time? The QSI system must see packets from the command station now and again or it will shut down (I'm fairly certain they did this on purpose to make the car less annoying when not being used).
