Anybody know if this is a working phone #?
Posted by One Track Mind on Friday, September 1, 2006 11:17 AM

On the new Model Power MB/Dodge Sprinter EMS vans they apparently put a real name and phone # on the side??? It looks like a Long Island phone # for All County Ambulance. Anybody from Long Island on the forum? Just curious as to whether it was a real number or not but I certainly don't want to call what might be an emergency number and find out for sure.

Would be surprised if it WAS a real phone # as that could cause a little trouble. I am reminded of the example from the mid-'70s when Larry Wood, a Hot Wheels designer, did the artwork for a Hot Wheels tow truck and for realism put HIS home phone number on the side. It inadvertently made it through the production line and out to the stores with his own home phone # in the "24 Hour Service" area. Lo and behold and bunch of little Hot Wheels fans began calling the number at all hours.

Edit: DOH! Forgot you can look up phone #s on this handy dandy internet deal. Didn't spend too much time looking for it, but what I found was "no record of that number."

Pretty realistic of Model Power to put what looks like a real phone number on the side.....I'm just always a little surprised when it doesn't start with a "555-" like in the TV or movies.
