Thanks for the replys.  I have since found out that M G Sharp Models (www.mgsharp.com) here in England,UK hope to aquire a supply of  Trix Big Boys at a very reduced price with the number 4011 only.  I have one on order.  I already have 4015 so, 4011 would be very welcome as the Trix loco is superb -  even better at a reduced price.   Perhaps this was  a special run like you say for Europe.  The small picture  on Sharps web site does show the loco with number 4011.   Fingers crossed that they will be available.

Thanks again from Leighdrums.  It's a rainy day in England, UK

I am not sure about the 4011 number, but the web site below is for the 4012 and I have seen the 4021 listed also.  They seem to be from Germany and are weathered, so maybe they are changing the numbers to suit their desires.  The one listed might be the AC version for Euro.

The Trix USA version non-sound is the 4013 and the USA sound version is 4015.  I have these two but did not notice any other number here for the Trix.

They are just numbers. Any reason you can't change um? I have a cool picture of number 4011. It's double headed with UP Challenger 3999. The numbers are very clear in the photo, but didn't come out too good when I scanned it. This is the ORIGINAL, not a copy. Check it out:

I have only seen the Big Boys with the following road #'s : 4013 (no sound, second production run I think) and 4015 (with sound, third production run), I seem to recall another number but I can't recall if it had sound or not ( and which production run either).I think there was a limited run for the Marklin club (?or for Europe) that might have had a different number from the above locomotives.

I have heard that Trix Big Boy Locos with sound, numbered 4011 may be available.  Am I dreaming this or is this fact?
