Hi Andrew,

I have a feeling the did not either, but I like the caboose. Its the only bay window I have except for the SP one I have that makes an appearance every so often.

I notice that Athearn makes a BN bay window caboose which coul have come from Frisco and then repainted.

I believe the Burlington Route had the wide vison and the standard cupola cabooses.

Thanks,

Mark

While I don`t know much about the CB&Q,they may have never had bay window cabooses.Athearn and just about every other manufacturer used to produce a model and decorate it for just about all the popular roads, regardless of whether they actually had them. That is why you could buy DD-40s painted for B&O and Pennsy. The model manufacturers make a huge effort now to be more railroad specific whith what they produce but that is why we now pay a lot more for them.

Thanks,

The one in question is CB&Q Burlington Route. Have not been able to find a photo of one, most ones I find are the wide-vision caboose type. Such as the one from Atlas.

Mark, check out the parts by Details West and Details Associates. They are both in the Walthers catalog [and on-line] and they have dozens of details for cabooses. And you`re right,Athearn bay window cabooses used to have the details you talk about, but they havent made them like that for a few years. You might also want to check out prototype photos to see if the parts you want to put on are appropriate for your road;I think the ones Athearn used to do were specific to the Southern Pacific.

Greetings All,

I have an older bay window caboose by athearn that had the antenna and marker lights on top which are missing. I would like to replace them.

I wrote to Athearn for parts and they told me the bw caboose had none.

They used to I know for a fact. Any advice for older Athearn parts?

Thanks,
