I have recently discovered that Soundtraxx has developed a surround sound system for layouts that eliminates the need for Loco installed decoders but they have not released any pricing yet since the product is scheduled to be available the last quarter of this year. I suspect it will be pricey. Does anyone have a heads-up on this new product?
I am also wondering if there isn't someone who produces sound software that would interface with (as an example) the Digitrax Zepher through the gameport which would eliminate any other add-ons except for the strategic placement of speakers in the layout.

The last time I called them they said they were shooting for the first half of 2004 for a release date. They could not give me a price but said it would be more then $500 and less then $1000.
