I can see the real thing about every day and the color I saw on the model is definitely not ok. But the detail is impressive. There is a good spot where I can see those P42s from above and Athearn did a great job on the roof !

They must have had a tough time with the colour, it depends what picture you look at . Some look blue and some look green. The 2003 Trackside guide has a picture of it on the cover and it looks blue. I've been real close to the engine and it depends at what angle you look at.

I just saw one of them a few minutes ago and it was not the right color : a bit too dark but almost blue as the right tint would be a deep cyan, half blue / half green. I should receive mine tomorrow from another hobby shop; hope it won't be from the same batch...

Yes your right, the first set of P42's were too light. Athearn got alot of feedback over this and redid the paint, and I can tell you it is bang on. Nice looking loco. Got mine in the mail a few days ago (HO scale Road #910 ). Was surprised because I thought they would delayed longer than this .

From what I understand, it isn't.
It seems to be too light. I learned this from a hobby shop in Mississauga in April who was doing custom paint jobs for them.
