If you are just getting into model railroad, there is a new Dash 9 from Aristocraft in 1/29 (g-scale).

HO or N????
In HO, there's at least 15 different diesel manufacturers and SOME are lemons.
In a nut shell, it's what is under the shell that counts.
Give us a little bit more infor and we can do a better job for you.
In HO, 22" curve radius seems to be the norm for larger locos.
18" radius will not accomodate most three axle diesels.
