Krump, My best advice is to keep patroling your local shows in hope of one showing up. That or try calling Customer service, they can get you a back order for cover price I think.

I made several Turtle Creek cars from the decals including a modern covered hopper car. The white decals look superb on the dark green paint! [:D]

The TC is a fictional railroad so we can do whatever we want!!!! My TC car is a Central Valley truss rod car. It fits the era of my pike. What's more important is I LIKE IT. Put the decals on anything that pleases you, it's your railroad.

Microscale did in fact make the decals for the Turtle Creek but a visit to their website did not turn up any such roadname.

I wouldn't recommend using to railroad's markings on the same car if you want to keep it prototypical. Even if you don't own an airbrush you could still make a decent model of the TC from an undecorated car. Just be sure to use high quality brushes and make as few strokes as possible.

Unfortunately, in data-only form, it is an Accurail 3400-series PS-1 car (#3498 data-only, oxide red) which is currently not in production and can not otherwise be easily matched. The other two data-only cars in the #3400 series have the wrong door for a TC car.

Having and running cars representative of past MR project layouts can be fun. Over the years I've accurately reproduced a number of cars of these, including the original Pine Tree Central, the Great South Pass, Seaboard Central, Carbondale Central,and BV. I often run these at train shows, pulled by an MR&T SD-40. They make a great conversation starter, especially when some longtime reader of MR recognizes a car from one of the 1960's or 70's MR layouts.

In the April 2003 issue of Model Railroader there was a artical for a 40 foot TCC boxcar.
I have the decals for this project but I was thinking about using a base railroad like the N&W but still have the TCC decals on the car.
Is this a good idea or should I just stick to the Turtle Creek Central[?][?][?]
