Yes, you need to thin it with Testor's Lacquer Thinner (NOT THE PAINT THINNER). The stock consistency of the Dullcote is too viscous to shoot through an airbrush. You need to thin it down with the Lacquer Thinner to a more fluid consistency.

For my particular airbrush (Badger 200), I find it works well with a 2-part Dullcote 1-part thinner mixture. Your airbrush might behave differently though, so you should experiment a bit first.

Good luck.

I usually use Dull cote spray cans too. Some day I'm going to try Jeffrey's Matte-Finish, he's mentioned it several times.

I'm way down here in central Louisiana. You won't believe this, but we can't even get Dull-cote here. Every hobby shop I've checked doesn't have it and the Wal-mart stores here don't carry it. I did however, find an excellent substitute. Matte-Finish, available at most art supply stores and from Wal-mart. It comes in a spray can the same size as a regular spray paint can and costs less than Dull-Cote.

Typically with testors paints, If it is set up for use with an airbrush, there will be a Big Red block of lettering that says "for airbrush use only" If that label is there it needs no thinning. If it is not and needs thinning use Testors airbru***hinner.

It should say what to use on the back of the bottle. I just used the Dull Cote spray can, so I'm not exactly sure what to use. It might be laquer thinner.
