Wiring for LED Signal's

Thanks, I didn't want to blow another LED. No, my set is still the old DC, with block wiring. I like it, and maybe someday I will attempt DCC, but I have a lot of engines, and it is a large layout, 30 X 35 feet.
I use my signaling system to tell me if a block has power when I flip the switch. If there is no power to that section of track then the signal is off, when I flip the switch to turn on that particular block then the signals come on to tell me I have power.
It's pretty simple, but it looks good, lots of signals all over the layout.

The resistor can go in either lead. It makes no difference.
When you say "block", are you implying that you are using DCC? This will work as the track ic AC. But DC will only allow the LED to illuminate in one direction only.

[?]I posed this question on another forum, it is about wiring LED's. My signal system is basic, in that the signals indicate power to the block. They still look good and gives the appearance of a signal system. At least I know if that block is powered or not.
Some of the signals are pre-wired bulbs, they are great, just attach to the rails and you are ready to go. The Pre-wired LED's are ok, but don't forget the resistor. I have done that and poof you'll blow out the LED.
My problem is with Oregon Rail signals. They come in kit for, they are fun to put together, but some how I lost the wiring directions. The LED as you know has two conectors. One is just a straight conector, the other other has a small piece next to the LED that makes it look like a plus sign. Which connector do you attach the resistor too, the one with the cross piece, or the one without the cross piece.
Any assistance would be appreciated[;)]
