It may be for us "Eastern" folks, but I am a "Mountain" man! LOL.

I'm eastern railroad oriented but I've always thought GN steam had lots of character and individuality. Can see why you lost your heart, she's a beaut. [tup][tup][tup]

Let's see for $1,700 one can purchase a BLI museum edition even though they are in limited supply and BLI says they're going fast. Hmm, if one were to emulate some of the "charitable" solicitors out there and raise funds for a unique museum of scale steam starting with this GN 4-8-4 it might become a doable; maybe not. [swg]

Fergie--ain't that one SWEET loco, though? Even if it's really a picture of the BLI Museum Northern, I have a feeling that the PCM will look just about the same. I've got an old PFM S-1 that runs like a Swiss watch--wonder if I should get an S-2 to keep it company, hmmmm?

What really got to me in the PCM catalogue though, was their intention of putting out not only a non-brass Southern Pacific GS-4 that will actually HAUL something, but the Dayight train to go along behind it. Looks like I'm saving my sheckels for them all!

These kinds of catalogues should be OUTLAWED, LOL! [:P][:P][:P]

When I win the contest for all those items in the catalog, I'll keep y'all in mind. I couldn't possibly use <everything> in there, so get in line - I'll be sellin' 'em cheap...

Isn't the BLI and the PCM one almost identical??

I've never done N scale, but when I saw that PRR M1 Mountain with LokSound in N scale in the new catalog, my eyes lit up!

Next April, or whenever it actually is released, I'm going to need at least some kind of little table top layout, or something. Maybe a little coal drag on an oval in my little office. Cool!

Me, too, Fergie. In fact, I already have one on order. And the evil part of my mind
is trying to get me to order a second one. And I'm not sure how long I can
hold out . . . . . .[:P][swg]

It is a nice engine.

I'll still take a WM Potomac 4-8-4 for 1000 and drop a sound into it.

But if BLI ever made that engine I probably will get a copy.

I gotta admit that BLI is making the Brass of very good quality, probably good enough to make the most jaded Brass Collector feel long dead feelings of love once again. =)

I got my Precision catalog a week ago, and drooled over that baby also. Hey Fergie, what if I put a bug in Lisa's ear that it would make a GREAT Father's Day gift ....hmmmmmm?

...and the BLI version is a scant $1700. That's why they put it in their "Museum Series" category...

I think that's a photo of Brodway Limited Museum Series Great Northern 4-8-4.

Here's photo of the Brodway web sight.

That's the suggested Retail price. I suspect the in store price offered by some of the top retailers will be 20-30% lower.
