What a poll................do you like your ice "fresh or frozen"?

No poll is pointless. If you want to know something, you should feel free to ask us! It's like that old saying, "There' no such thing as a stupid question."

I'm sorry you had to accept the usual "pointless poll" remark, as it is a regular reply on most of the polls posted, and I know how it makes you feel as a newcomer to the hobby and the forum. I hope this unpleasant experience doesn't hinder your ability to find great enjoyment from a very fun hobby. [:D]

Bachmann, why?
Because they have pricing that allows entry level people and low income folks to participate in the hobby.
Walthers, adjusted for inflation is now selling very nice plastic at the price of Brass just a few years ago. Beautiful for collector's items but allowing the elite to be the only model railroaders. (gross exageration).
Model Railroading is FUN!
Even though the cover no longer says it.

You are trying to compare apples and oranges in this POLL. Bachmann makes locomotives, Walthers handles everything we use for mdel railroading. They bought Life Like, so if you want to compare LifeLike locomotives to Bachmann, now you can have a proper "comparison" POLL.

Since its obvious you are new to the forums, this poll is NOT "pointless" or "useless". As a newbie you are trying to get an opinion from the people already in the hobby. Perhaps some of the long time posters out there who have seen these "useless polls" time and time again just ignore them and let the people who want to encourage newbies answer these polls.
By the way my vote goes to Bachmann for Locos and Walthers for everything else!

Walthers Trainline Ok. Their Premium engines, definitely thumbs up.

Bachmann standard line CRAP Spectrum Ok. They have some serious quality control issues that need to be addressed.

Since I don't own any samples of either, "None of the above."

Or below, or to either side.

Let's hear it for Adachi, KTM, Kawai, Toby, TER and Tenshodo.

I like Bachmann.[:D] Their Spectrum engines, in my opinion, are excellent. Not just the new ones, but the old ones, too.[:D] The new standard line stuff is also pretty good. I've got the 4-8-4 Niagara, and it runs smooth and quiet, and the detail is nice.[:D]

Ok, to answer the QUESTION, walthers since they have P2K and their cars are great. Now, to the ones that are griping, polls are used to see the opinions of others about the STATED question, not your opinions about polls. Yes some polls are useless but others are good, not just the trackside ones. If you dont like polls then why look at them? Is it just to boost you post count? I think I have said enough.

It's a poll. Simple as that.

My opinion still stands firm: Any polls, other than the "Trackside" series, are pretty much worthless, including any polls I may have posted in the past. I, along with many other users, hope that the polls will be removed from the common user's posting options, thereby making them only available to moderators and administrators.
