Right, the excursion stripe was a different color than the reguler service stripe from the first run.
I did get ahold of BLI today and they did say that there is a difference between the regular service stripe on the first run and the regular service stripe on the second run. This kind of sucks. Now I have to engines from the same time period that don't match. Also, they don't currently have a regular service 611 made with the second run shade of the stripe.

If my poor memory serves me semi-correctly BLI had listed the Class J (depending on road number) with different colors or shades of Tuscan red/Maroon to suit the time period and government requirements over lead based paints used it the original paint job (stripe included)as opposed to the later fan trip stripe and paint.

Does anyone know if BLI chagned their color mix they use on the tuscan stripe between the first run and second, a.k.a. Stealth, run? I have a first run 611 'regular service' engine and just today got a stealth 606. Right away, I noticed the 606 looks more like the 'excursion 611' as far as how silly shiny it is. But the tuscan stripe and even the shade of the yellow/gold stripe and number on the side of the engine look different than the 611 I have.
I would compare, but we are moving and my 611 is all packed away.
thanks!
