I can't say for sure on the older F7s, but I have disassembled early 1990's era Atlas locos which were make by Kato. In those cases, loosen the two screws that hold the halves of the chassis together (not touching, but close together), then spread the two halves slightly and the trucks will fall out.

They may pull out without loosening the chassis, but you increase the risk of damaging them.

Are you certain you want to take trucks off?

A beginner's question. How are the trucks on one of the older N scale Kato F7 units removed? Do they just pop off or is there more to it than that?
