Easy fix for the loose screw problem. Tighten the screw so that the coupler can move freely. Put a small drop of Lock-Tite on the edge of the screw head where it meets the plastic of the coupler box. The Lock-Tite should be on the screw and the plastic. It shouldn't fall off again.

Athearn Genesis Coupler Boxes

I have several of the Athearn Genesis F units (F-7's, F-3's and even the new F-2's) and I really enjoy them all. The detail is great as well as the actual engines are "almost" as reliable as Atlas. My only complaint is that the coupler boxes are Terrible. If you tighten the screw to much, the coupler doesn't move freely. If I back it off to allow the coupler freedom to move, the screw eventually falls off and so does the coupler. With my luck, this always seems to happen deep inside of a tunnel....LOL

Does anyone make a better coupler box that will hold a Kadee #5 and fit nicely on the Athearn Genesis locomotives?
