Jeff's "build it yourself" idea might not be all that much work. You could pick up an inexpensive "brick" roundhouse (like an Atlas) and a few panels of Evergreen clapboard siding. Then, it would be a simple matter to cut siding to fit around the doors and windows, and glue it to the outside of the brick.

It takes an iron man to play with a toy iron horse.

Try AMB and BTS; both have laser-cut wood roundhouse kits, but I'm not sure if either are the right style for your prototype.

wood roundhouse kit?
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, June 2, 2006 6:41 PM
Hi, I'm searching for an HO-scale wood roundhouse kit. No luck in the Walthers catalog or online searches. Does anyone know of one available?

I'm looking for something to represent the L&N roundhouse in Pensacola FL. I have a photo from the 1920s that shows an 8-stall roundhouse made of wood siding. I'm actually modeling the early 50s, so I'm not sure if the same wooden roundhouse was in place then or had been replaced with a more modern brick version (I have an aerial photo from 1951 showing a roundhouse, but can't tell what it's made of). So if anyone happens to know a good source for info about the L&N roundhouse in Pensacola, I'd appreciate that too!
