Hi, All.
Yahoo had some system problems last week and everything ground to a halt. That's all fixed now and the discussions are flowing again. We've added quite a few items to our 'Files' area like schematics for building power supplies, selection guides for DCC products, reverse loop wiring and many others.
You can visit us at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/DCC4ALL
Have Fun!

I don't know if Yahoo is to blame, or something else, but it took me nearly an hour just to sign up for this forum, the response was so slow. After I did manage to log on, I could take a nap as I waited for each message to load. I'm not blaming the moderator for this, but will sure keep watching to see if they can get off of Yahoo onto a faster server!

Hi, All.
I certainly agree with all your comments about Yahoo. They are so spam crazy that it gets difficult to conduct group business. Unfortunately, we're just starting out and it's free so we put up with it temporarily until we can launch from a real website.
In the meantime, we have lots of help for everyone and we're already up to 250 members. If we can get to 500, we'll move for sure. So, your welcome to join us and we'll all hope for a quick membership rise. [:)]
Thanks and Have Fun!

I agree with the YAHOO BOMB. We have THree Websites . What do you need to HOST your DCC group? OUR hosts (We have 2) are great folks. I can add to a site to handle the group. I am NEW NEW NEW to DCC and have TONS of questions.

I have to agree with the above comment on Yahoo. Since blocking all yahoo related sites at my firewall my PC's are experiencing much fewer (none) spam, ad attacks and general discomfort. Yahoo has been blocked for six months now and no-one in the house has missed it.
Can you find a less aggressive host for your group?

Hi Augie
Don't want it to rain on your parade, but I was ticked off with the format of their questioneer.
I'm moving next year and will have 30'x30' work shop and am thinking of going for DCC. Have read everything available and find that important questions aren't answered.

Hi, Penn.
Trying to avoid 'spam' is like trying to avoid death. I wouldn't advise someone to stay locked up in their bedroom all day. [;)]
We believe the amount of content and help you'll find in our group makes the Yahoo 'spam' obstacle course worthwhile. Hope to see lots of you there!

Thanks but no thanks. I refuse to register with Yahoo, I don"t need more spam and they don't recognize that people retire, or are the two related?

Hi, Everybody.
I'm a fellow MR subscriber and model railroader who loves dcc. I joined lots of dcc sites but they seemed unfriendly when I asked basic questions. Sometimes they wouldn't even answer me!
Well, that was 3 years ago and now I ARE A EXPERT! [:D]
Seriously, I started this new dcc group at:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/DCC4ALL/
and everyone is welcome to join and participate. We have over 150 members in just 2 days and many of them are highly experienced and very helpful to fellow members. Anyone can ask a question and receive a friendly answer.
If you use dcc or are thinking of adopting it, please stop by and check us out. I think you'll be happily surprised at how easy it is to get help from our members.
Thanks, all.
Lou. [:)]
