Favorite Diesel Locomotive to Model?

Burlington Northern SD40-2's, along with a couple GP50's and cabless B30-7a's. I wont bother to think of other locos until i get good roster of these diesels (that wont be for awhile).

R/max, I agree. The E units are classics! I would only differ that the earlier E's looked better with the raked nose.

Jetrock, I can recommend a narrow-gauge Porter. I have recently bought an On30 0-4-2 Porter made by Bachmann Spectrum and it goes like cream over jelly. hopegully i can set up an On30 layout soon in the garage.

I also would like to see shorter diesel and steam locomotives instead of the huge behemoths like SD60's, SD70's, 2-6-6-2's and other diesel and steam locomotives that are over a foot long and need a minimum of 30 or more inches curve radius.

how is what iu would like to see in way of short length loco's in plastic and ready to run

1. Porter locomotives 30 to 50 tonners
2. RS3M's both DeWitt" & "Altoona" versions
3. Or RS3M body shells- "Altoona & DeWitt versions to fit on Stewart Hobbies frames
4. Illinois Central SW13's and SW14's or body shells to fit on Athearn SW7 frame

any GP. i now have 2 GP40s (CB&Q, BN(new)) 2 GP7s, and one GP50. the sad thing is i can't tell the difference except that the GP7, GP9, and GP18 have shorter noses. other than that i don't see a difference. oh well, i'm hoping either to order or buy a BNSF Heritage II SD50 or something i think.
