Mike . You may know this already but I will throw it out anyway. The Tsunami has individual sound vol control as well as system vol control.Make sure what ever sound you want to hear the loudest such as chuff is adj as well as system vol. That may help the vol problem. Again it may be as you say and the speaker is small due to limited space in the tender.

If you don't have a tech manual for the Tsunami yet you can download one from the Soundtraxx site. It has all the CV's and info you need to maximize your Tsunami's performance.

Thank you both...It was the address. They had set it on the engines 4 digit number.I had assumed that it was either on 3 or on the last 2 digits in the number. No big deal,I just did'nt want to wait untill monday to run it.I wi***hat they would have included a note as to which values were set.The engine is a 0-6-0 so there is'nt much room in the tender,I suppose that it has a small speaker because the sound of the chuff, whistle, water fill and wheel screech are very low(even when I change the value to 255)....The bell and coupler clank seem to be loud.

Try running it on address 3, the factory default. The installer probably didn't change the address, and your DCC system may need a programming booster in order to change the address and CVs.

Put it on your program track and check the address. Go to Page mode (Pg) and dial up AD2 if it isn't already there and hit the display button. It should show you the address. If it comes up No-Pg or Fail then I would suspect an installation/wiring problem.

PS Just remembered. I just put in a Tsunami for my neighbor and it would not program on my Super Chief. I bought the Soundtraxx program booster and it works great. So you probably will not be able to verify address????

You have set your address incorrectly, I think. This would explain the automatic/random sound...the decoder is receiving power, it just hasn't heard its name yet. Please review the procedure for setting a new address...you may have missed a step.
If that doesn't fix it, the installer may not have hooked up a motor lead correctly.
Sorry I can't be more helpful.

I just recieved my 0-6-0 back, placed it on the tracks, applied power....air pumps are working but nothing else.No movement,no control of lights, whistles, ect. I tried to reset to the defaults(CV30-2 and CV8 -8)But nothing changed, engine never went silent and only air pump sound continued.I've tried both address 3 and the last two digets of the engine #.I use a digitrax chief and a DT400 throttle. The installer is closed for the weekend, but I figured that I might be able to get some help here.I'm suprised that they did'nt send along a note as to what was programed into the decoder
