[:D]what do the diffrent colored circles on the switch stands mean. If the sitch is set what color is it?

Think of it from the engineer's point of view in the cab. If you were approaching a switch that was set against you, what colour would you like to see? [:D]

It's similar to a stop light on the highway. Green means the switch is aligned for the main which, usually, is a good thing. Red means the switch is aligned for the diverging route either left or right.

There is a switch stand here in Brampton that has a purple target. It's located on a siding that curves away from the main line. I don't knoe what it means, or if there's a different colour on the other side.
