I agree. Either Genesis or RTR would be nice. I bought the loco and have been pulling my hair out trying to find the cars.

The only one that I have seen offered is by con-cor but it's a superliner painted in Surfliner colors. I have not seen it painted in the amtrak california colors though. I think someone should produce this car (Athearn Genesis?).
