I have 6 sets of walthers and I like them but I want to see what others think just incase I decide to buy something else. For example: Is Athearn worth it by getting one less car for more money but you get the coal load? I want to know what others think.

No, Kato only does Bethgons in N. As for HO ones, I have 6 Walthers ones in CSX Confederate Gray, and I love them! Heavy (even when empty!) and I haven't got them to derail once. I've heard good things about the Athearn RTR Bethgons, too.

I didn't think about Kato. Do they have Coalporters in HO scale?

I have sets of them from LBF and Walthers. I'll give the Walthers the edge in quality but I can't complain too loudly about the LBFs. Add #5s and your favorite wheelsets. You can get loads for either or roll your own.

Okay guys, I need more help on this! Plus, I need to know what is the "other" company that makes Bethgon Coalporters? Or is the "other" some other car. It's my pole and I'm confused about the "others".
