Dave, my friend. Good to read from ya!

Don't worry, I already have a P2K E8 that I plan on installing sound in. I just wanted to have this particular BLI unit since the sound is excellent (love that horn!) [4:-)][tup] and it has the lighting features I want.

Remember? You and I talked a year or so back during the MTH "crisis"........I currently have 5 P2k E units that I plan on installing sound. I'm waiting for the diesel Tsunami (o.k Dave, stop laughing already!), [(-D][(-D]but in the meantime since there's a unit available with the exact sound I want....I'd like to get it, paint it, put it on the club track and let her rip.

High Greens.

It's amazing to me, as for years modeling passenger trains was sort of "the backburner" for the majority of HO modelers who are mostly into freight. Looks like there are more passenger train modelers than commonly known. I won't underestimate BLI customers again.

Anyone here purchase one of these units? How do you like it?

Antonio,
You have to remember that although E units are usually known for their service
on passenger trains, they were also used for freight.

I love my Southern E8(in the same paint scheme as the picture above). Runs great
and looks great... and sounds great. I also have a P2K E6 with the same QSI sound
system. It is also a fine locomotive. When I got my BLI model, I MU'ed to my Proto...
they ran almost identical.

So, if you can't get your hands on the BLI, maybe you can find a P2k... unless you just
have to have a E8. Good luck, Dave

Hi Crew! [8D]

I'm interested in getting an undecorated BLI E8. (to repaint to SCL) Heard the sound sample and viewed the body on BLI's website. Sound is very impressive and the bodies are nicely contoured.

I casually assumed that MY LHS' would have several of these in stock. Wrong ! [:0]......... the owner told me that these units solld out quickly to customers that pre-ordered, but another batch will be available soon. So, as much as I don't like to pre-order.......it seems that I don't have much of a choice......unless I wait 6 months or so for them to appear on Ebay or at Discount web dealers.
