this has nothing whatsoever to do with trains and Model Railroading, but I'd thought I'd post it just in case some people are interested (and also cause it's 3 in the morning & I'm extremely bored!!!)
That clip you saw is from a 1941 Bob Hope/Jane Russel film called "The Paleface".
OK people, back to the rails!!

Saw a film clip last night on PBS...of Bob Hope singing "Buttons and Bows" to Jane Russell.
Now I'm wondering if there's a buttons & bows magazine, too ?
If so....bet the BRASS buttons are what the serious collectors go for, the old Max Grays and PFM's ?
...excuse me...time for my meds now...
regards / Mike

I THOUGHT Andy S was being just a little oblique there in his reponse to my posting -- glad to learn it was an error
Ouch N&W! I have not seen Kalmbach's bead magazine. I have seen their Astronomy and Bird magazines. And we geezers remember when Kalmbach had an airline magazine, a ship magazine, and Better Camping. But those failed commercially. Great pictures though.
Well my wife went to a big bead show today in Milwaukee which I think was sponsored by Kalmbach and their bead magazine. These beads are not the cheap trinkets you give away at Mardi Gras for .... for .., well for favors received. No! These beads cost as much as Intermountain freight cars. Three beads for $70! She did NOT go to the classes which cost $300 each! No wonder Kalmbach has gone into beads -that is where the money is! The mind reels ....

Maybe if Kalmbach put the same kind money and talent into MRR that is has with it beading magazines, MRR would have better readership.

Try DataTrain of Texas, 1415 Golden Gate, Carrollton, TX 75007, 214-446-8950. This is a dealer that carries a stock of magazine back issues.
Good hunting,
Andy

An article in today's Milwaukee Journal Sentinel says that Kalmbach's bead magazine is poised to overtake Model Railroader in circulation
Who'd a thunk it?
