I also think it is too tall. Do you guys think it would be better to shave it from the top or shave the horizontal runners it rests on? http://www.trainweb.org/dhvm/images/dhrr_diesel/BALDWIN_RF-16/UNKNOWN/1205-06.jpg

I have a couple of the DH units. They sure are good runners.

I believe those E&LS/D&H/MON/PC units are ex-NYC - that hatch on the model may just be too tall.....

Thanks!

When I first got the models, I wasn't exactly sure what that thing was...since it looked like scrap, and wasn't painted to match the model. From what I can tell, this hatch appears to be a bit too tall, so I'll have to lower it to match the ex-NYC units.

Here is a roof shot of the last 2 Baldwin Sharks in existence. DH 1205 & 1216 currently in storage in Escanaba Michigan on the E & LS:

I am no Baldwin 'Shark' expert, but it sort of looks like a Dynamic Brake ......

Baldwin RF16 question

I was recently given an ABBA set of Model Power Baldwin RF16 diesels. Eventually, I'm painting them for the Monongahela RR. Anyway, these engines came with a large rectangular brown "plug" on the roof. All of the RF16 photos I looked at today don't have this plug, however some seem to have a slightly-raised area midway down the carbody. Is this just a Model Power thing? I'm wondering, since my much older Tyco RFs don't have this feature.
