I mounted the switch machine to a piece of 3/8" plywood and pre-drilled two holes in the plywood. One as the pivot base and the other for securing the final position. You will have to drill a pilot hole in the masonite or it will split.

How do I mount a tortoise switch machines if I use masonite spline roadbed? Do I just mount the tortoise under the spline roadbed?
