Walthers Goo or Goodyear's Pliobond are good; water-based contact cement is better.

I agree with Mike on this. I can also add that Liquid Nails is now also available in small tubes packaged in blister packs. Much more convenient than working from a caulking gun cartridge. I found it sold this way at the local Ace Hardware store.

In my experience this mix of materials needs something like Walther's Goo or Epoxy. Some of these spray adhesives might work too
Obviously no solvent glue will work on wood very well, if at all.

Plastic to Wood : I've had very good success with construction adhesives, like "Liquid Nails for Projects"...it comes in a caulk-style tube, so I squeeze some into a sealable jar. It can be thinned with water a little. It sets up fairly fast, but not too fast to prevent positioning & adjusting.

i'm going to glue styrene to basswood and i'm wondering what type of glue would be best. or i guess more in general, what would work best for gluing plastic and wood together? after a while of trying different glues, i just used elmer's white. is there anything better?
