the-gauge.com is now 5 years old. [;)]
Someone in the administration didn't realize that the lease on the name expired today. [:I] That has now been fixed.
It's a friendly forum with a number of familiar names, interesting threads and a large number of construction articles with photos and diagrams.
(Note: we are not trying to take away members from Kalmbach!)

The Gauge is one of the older railroad sites online. We are into all gauges/scales including 1:1 scale.

We are definately alive and kicking [:D].

Come check us out we are always ready to have new folks drop in.

What is "The-Guage?" I've never heard of this site before in my life! Which model railroad scales does it focus on? Or does it?? Thanks

Yup. It sure is.

It's really kind of hard to support your local hobby shop when the nearest hobby shop that's worth the name is a 150 mile roundtrip.

Ok as I understand it the owner of the Gauge waited till the last minute to renew the domain name.

The word I just got is that it will be back up and running tomorrow morning.

I just tried it and got a site devoted to automobiles! If this used to be a RR site, it clearly is no longer.

Generic page. Looks like they either didn't pay their web host, or they forgot to renew their domain name.

I think some of the other staff members of the forum I help moderate are real close to some of the guys at The Gauge. I'll try to find out.

That sucks. Who is the owner of the data? Anyone in communication with them and know their intention?

Yeah, it's gone. They lost the lease on the site, and before they could renew, it was snapped up. I get a generic search engine for automotive gauges.

I don't want to overly panic, so I'll try later, but shift -reloads still get me the "expired domain" page. I hope that is not the case though!

Comes right up. No problem here. I think it is one of those quirks that happen from time to time.
