I was re-reading your layout design for a an L shaped passenger station. In a side bar, you talk about how HO medium Peco turnouts are good for staging. Is this true in N scale as well?

I would think so, although the only experience i have with them was on Gordon Odegard's N scale Clinchfield layout, and we didn't run passenger trains there. The Peco catalog gives a radius of 18" for the curved side of these turnouts, and in N scale that's pretty generous.
So long,
Andy

I have a friend in an N-trak club and she swears by Peco turnouts. I am planning to start a layout and she told me Peco turnouts never fail.

"Never" and "ever" are awfully long times. Do Peco turnouts "never" fail? This is a myth, they do fail, or for me at least do give problems. But I still use and love Peco turnouts. Where you can have problems is at the points touching the rail. I might attach feeders or jumpers to the points, this time around. The Titanic was "never" going to sink, McCormick center in Chicago would never burn (it burned down in three hours) - don't believe "never" and "ever" statements... lol!
