I think The Tick got by more on pure dumb luck. Most good concepts have been done before, even the incompetent hero with the smart sidekick. Remember Darkwing Duck? Same premise. Doesn't mean that it can't still be made entertaining.

By day...he's Norm Mineta....a mixed up bueracrat working the hallways and boardrooms of the nation's capitol .....pretending to support passenger rail...touring the country making speeches............as he whittles away at its.funding.

Due to brainwashing from a strange, sneaky politician....some weird mixed up guy known as "John McCain", this little man undergoes a hideous transformation at night.....[alien]......he can't stop it......[B)]........it's beyond sickening!....[:0]....Hide the children!...............He becomes: SLAMTRAK! [banghead]

His targets..anything on rails that's painted blue and platinum, made from stainless steel, and carries people, His only goal: Destroy and Scrap them all! [|(]

Is there a hero that can stop this monstrosity?!

"I like my Pullman Standards & Budds in Stainless Steel flavors, thank you!"

Hi everybody,

I was going along today and I was talking with a firend about superhero comic book characters. and I had a totally random and bizarre thought.

I came up with a comic book character the "ROCK ISLAND AVENGER" and his trusty side kick "ROCKET GIRL" The Rock Island Avenger costume is taken up in the shades of the "Bankruptcy Blue Scheme" and the Rocket Girls costume is based off of a Rocket scheme painted E-8.

What sort of things he fights. (The evils of corporate corruption perhaps?) and what he does for his day job I haven't decided yet. But I have a bigger problem first.

I CAN'T DRAW [*^_^*]

But what you all think?

James

Neither can I but it doesnt stop me

Can't be any worse than the the comic books I always threaten to draw:

"Snow White and the Seven Lumberjacks" ...let your "adult" mind consider that one, [:0]

and

"Star Truck" ..think "Trek meets BJ and the Bear"[:p]

I'd say go for it, just start with pencil sketching first , get OK with your characters and scenes, THEN try inking over them thats the way comic book guys do it. Its pure trial and error, but eventually you have at least a final product you can share with friends or if it comes out really bad, hid and bury and insist you never ever drew anything![;)][:D][:o)]

   Have fun with your trains

Terrorizer of Amtrak and Commuter Trains?

......Oh! That would be Transportation Secretary Norm Mineta! His one and only goal for Amtrak:.............DESTROY IT!

Yep, he would be your "Lex Luthor " at Lex Corp (though Luthor is far more intelligent than Mineta).

There is a thought,

Every super hero needs a super villian. How about "The Great Train Robber" Terrorisor of Amtrak and Commuter Trains alike?

To be prototypical they should be fighting shoddily maintained roadbed and track.

I went with the the blue out fit, because I envision the type of fello, that while he is intelligent and he means well. He is an idiot, And the blue white and black seems to convey that sense. And sence all you guys who are married know that women always seems to have everything together, the girl side kick that quietly works and makes sure that as he stubles and fumbles through the plot that everything falls into place for a happy ending. Its more meant to be a laugh your brains out type affair anyway. Today I have also decided that the hero and the heroine are boy friend and girlfriend.

I think another one of the evils he ought to fight against is hostile takeovers.

By day he's an engineer, of course! [:D]

If you can't draw, make it a web comic. There are plenty of web comic artists, who can't draw. (Sometimes I think I'm part of that group)

That's an awesome idea. Maybe he fights vehicle villians and such, and the railroad always triumphs![:D]

Ignore the unnecessary and obnoxious comments of others. It sounds like an amusing idea so play around with it if you have the time.
