Caboose Identification
Posted by tatans on Thursday, November 10, 2005 9:21 PM
For all you caboose purists out there, I'll bet not many of you prototype hounds add the finishing touches to your cabooses with the crews identification symbol somewhere on the caboose, a lot of identifiers were, brooms, and a massive array of small individual home-made signs adorning the cupola, I remember seeing them as a darling little child and wondering what they were, I was told they located the caboose to their crew when there were a group of cabeese in the yard at a layover, makes sense, now how many of you guys in that era have them on your caboosii ? Somewhere out there I believe there are photos of these taken by someone a while back, some were pretty unique.

thats actually a really good idea. i think i'm going to go and add some of those details to my cabeese. i often forget that they were assigned to particular crews. i usually just end up thinking of them as another car in the train.

What's a caboose ?... Ohhh. You're talking about those odd looking little tail end cars that trains use to pull around back in the old days.

Seriously. I sure miss cabooses. It's a shame they did away with them.

Thanks for the tip tatans.
