Some of us geezers remember that for a brief time in HO, AHM actually imported a C-liner B unit! And for some reason it had more accurate FM trucks than the A units! Go figure.

I model the Canadian NAtional in HO scale and they had a couple versions of the B units. You really have to have photos of the unit you want to model because there are some differences between them, even on the same railroad. For example, before the Life-Like Proto 1K C-Liners were available, I kitbashed a B Unit from two AHM/Rivarossi A units. I went to great care to NOT end up with that small triangular window behind the cab side window - only to find out that at least one of the CN B units actually did have that triangular shaped window (and some didn't). Also, some CN C-Liners have four fans on the roof, others only three. Try looking in the Model Railroader Magazine index for listings of photos that appeared in magazines. There have been a couple really good books published on C-Liners as well. I will try to look up the titles and post them here.

I model in N scale, and recently purchased several Atlas/Rivarossi FM C-liners. What did the "B" unit look like? Any photos or diagrams would be greatly appreciated.
