Canandaigua Southern Question
Posted by Soo Line fan on Sunday, October 30, 2005 6:36 PM
Hello,
I was wondering if anyone knows what the small railing next to the track on John Armstrong's layout was used for? On all of the web sites that I have seen, the photos of his layout show this railing next to one side of the track.

The CS used outside 3rd rail as did many early O scale railroads.

It's really kind of hard to support your local hobby shop when the nearest hobby shop that's worth the name is a 150 mile roundtrip.

Thanks for the reply.
Was the power A/C or D/C?

Standard DC - just used outside 3rd rail so he did not have to insulate all the wheels on his existing equipment.
