100 ton Evans Coil Car Red Caboose N scale

I have a Red Caboose 100-Ton Evans Coil Car on order, N scale that has a glued on coil cover, has anyone adapted these to reveal the coils, I also have a pic of a southern with the coils showing, I purchased Stewart Products Strip Steel Coils, has anyone done detailing of these items, I'm hoping I can remove the covers, place the coils and return the covers with fun tak. [:p]
