Used to go fishing in it all the time when I was stationed there in the 90's. On weekends you could watch the decreped old SW they had creep along pulling one or two coaches down the few miles of track still usable after we blew up the mainline during the invasion in 89.

i've been through the panama cannal. back in 01' when my ship got redeployed from one coast to the other. can't say i was too impressed. the locks were impressive, but it seemed like the mosquitos were big enough to carry off a VW bug.
