back on topic. No matter how badly a woman got scorned, she should never do anything that severe. I mean these things are limitd run, and full of memories! If I saw her on the street, I'd run away!

Hard to say what the real deal is without knowing the full story. Normally decent,intelligent folks can make some pretty questionable decisions or actions under stress and no one I know would call a divorce stress free.

When my first wife ran off with another guy i changed the locks in seconds, lucky for me the back and front door are the same but there was no access to the back so i just swapped them over double quick,,,it worked a treat and she collected her stuff off the doorstep[:D][:-,][:D]
my wife now of 8 happy years would never do anything like that

Just to play devil's advocate, we don't know the whole story. While its true that destroying a prized model like that is not only immature but completely uncalled for, it is quite likely there were reasons why she did that. If you spent most of your spare time with your model trains instead of your wife, you don't think she'd be a little upset? Or maybe he did something to her that really got her riled. Divorces are ugly and its rare where one party is 90% at fault. I've seen crazy women and I've seen crazy men in divorces and many cases its both. I could go on about morality, but we're not supposed to get into that in this forum.

I feel sorry for that gentlemen. I had a similar experience I lost about $2,000.00 plus other operating accessorries in an O scale layout I bought for my son before I got divorced. My ex-wife did something with it. My lawyer refused to go after the property in court. I sued the lawyer later and it came out of his bill. As far as police go, they are incompetent, don't waste your time.

For anyone who doesn't believe this story, including lawyers, I also had the lawyer found guilty of incompetence before our state bar. I am also a union representative with experience in Workers compensation cases, grievance and arbitration cases, and contract bargaining. Moral to the story, never take on a client who knows what your job is, and understands the state ethics code for lawyers.

One other thing, I only lost one case before an arbiter, I have a winning record. People think I should go back to school and be a lawyer, I tell them I try to help people not screw them!

Its HIS fault, yep!

The MINUTE she moved out, should have been the minute he CHANGED the locks. This is even more a priority if she's shacked up with another guy.

Any time she wants to come pick stuff up, make sure its ONLY when he was there to oversee that nothing was "mistakenly" taken or "accidently" damaged.

Also that if the boyfriend comes with her, he sits outside. It was his responsibility to make sure she understood that he was NOT welcome and would not be allowed in. He could help with the heavy items at least to the door step, then let the new boyfriend take it, but it was his responsibility to protect his property.

Now that the damage is done, he should sue her. or at least bring it up in divorce court, especially if they have kids its a great example to a judge that she and her boyfriend might not be trustworthy with kids if they are so "prone to violence" ...

They're going through a divorce. Usually, the "boyfriend" in the situation tries to act all tough to the other guy. At least that's what I've seen.

It makes me mad to read that...but we don't know the whole situation. I think it'd be funny if he destroyed a prized posession of her's or the other guy's...[}:)]
