Because the B&M and MEC had a close relationship, many of their schemes were the same. This came from the time when the NH Railroad acquired control for a short period of time.

ok so about 3 weeks ago i bought a GP7 maine central, the paint scheme was the one that is maroon,gold.black. so in the november isue of MR i so i Boston and Maine. with the same paint scheme. also at the LHS a Boston and Maine passenger train with the same scheme! whats up[?]
