Who will by Roco

IIRC Roco built the drive for the old Atlas FP-7 locos 15 or 20 years ago. The first run was pretty good. The next batch several years later was superb! I have one of each. The earlier one had developed a few problems, but the later unit is smooth as glass after all these years. Yes Roco is easier to say!

And, as you mentioned, it means model railroad

Technically, "Modelleisenbahn Gesellschaft mit beschränkter Haftung" means "Model iron path company with limited liability."

You're right, though. Roco is a lot easier to say.

Roco was an Austrian company based in Salzburg. Much of their sales depended on the German market which slumped thus causing the Roco to fold up. Yes their products were very good. I have many of their European locomotives and some of the Shark Nose Diesels they produced for Model Power. These are still running and have needed little attention except for cleaning and lubrication even after 20 years.

Rocos are a good product though. If I find any of their american prototypes at the right price I would pick them up. Their drive mechinism is reputed to be even better than Kato's if that is even possible. But thats German engineering for you.

Roco was a large distributor of model trains in Germany and a large distributor of Military Minitures in the U.S. Has anyone heard talk as to who may buy the molds or acquire there product?
Side Question: Who else is manufacturing the new GEAC6000 besides Broadway Limited and any word if it wil have the American Flag decal on the side?
