If you were using a hot wire, then you might as well buy the WS foam that doesn't puff toxic fumes

Besides inhaling some of the deadliest gases on earth , I thought you used a "hot wire" system to carve out the foam , Am I wrong? and how fast and smooth does the hand scoop work?

Definitely. Got mine at an HD. This is the one I think I have:

btw, "Surform" is a trademark name of a tool made by Stanley. There may be other similar ones, but everyone knows them as Surform.

I'm guessing you're referring to a "surform" tool. they come in all shapes and sizes. I used one on my foam.

[8D]Well here's another question from "TRME". I want to know the name of the tool you use to carve and scoop foam for your mountains, it's not the rasp, but a tool that resembles a ice cream scoop?? Or something like that [?] Can anybody tell me what it is[?] Thanks for the help[;)]
