I don't want to say anymore or turn a great picture post into polictics, just thought that car was in the same vein.

Now back to our regular program already in progress...

I simply cut the horn off the coupler. It fits the Kaydee by dropping in from the top. Once it does it does not unhook without lifting both cars off the track. No problem with derails.

Problem - odd shaped area which needs an industry

Solution - build an odd shaped industry

This is a DPM kit I 'bashed to fit the area. It took me quite a while to build, mainly trying to get the wall angles correct. It's by no means perfect and obviously needs weathering and detailing (not to mention a loading dock).

Overall, I'd give myself a C+ or B-. I did leard a lot about kitbashing and I'm looking forward to my next project.

Well I have a new 2-6-6-2 logger which is a thrill to run although it did find a few places where track reworking became necessary. I also acquired a $75 Mac and Iphoto is a dream to use so I did. You can see some of the results here.

Well, after some intense conversations with my Sony Cybershot, I decided to re-program it from Auto to manual (I speak English better than Icon) and set up some shots of my new BLI UP Mountain (don't ask). I put it to work on a solid train of express reefers, which it handled with ease, and got some shots of it on Yuba Pass.
I also found out that my problems seem to be coming more from the change of resolution when I put them on Adobe Photoshop, more than from any problems with the initial pictures. Now I've got something ELSE to worry about, LOL!
Anyway, here's some shots of 7004 and her express train.

Crossing Dark Canyon Bridge--coming--

--and going--this is the East side of Yuba Pass

The end of the train is still on the West Side, entering Yuba Pass tunnel. About 20 cars.

Things are looking up.

My local Yall mart got in two boxes of those nice Malbu 1:87 scale cars last week. I bought all of the "American" cars they had. I decided to decal a couple to represent some cars I remember from my early teen years, Mid '70's.

Really awsome pics everyone! Too many good ones to mention everyone by name! I am always inspired by what I see on these photo posts!! I don't have anything new to add this time. [:(] All I have been able to get done since last time are more road stripes, and a couple of small detailing projects on a couple of locos. Maybe I'll have something next time. Till then, keep up the excellent work guys! [:D]

Nice Rust Bucket.

Mellow Mike,

That Box car is nice, but have you ever fixed one up like this?

Thanks for the compliment ken, I may be wrong here, But I think that all of the QSI chips put in by BLI, Atlas, P2K are designed specifically for the engine they're going in. So I dont think It is exactly the same but probably very similar. Both the Atlas dash 8 and the BLI AC6000 sound great.

Here is a shot took of a scene I am currently working on. I found that taking these helps to find unnoticed short comings. There are more than a few of those here. Next week I hope to show some progress here.

I'm convinced. One of these days, I've got to make my own scrap gondola. When I do, I'll open up a thread just for scrap gondola pics, OK? These things are an art form unto themselves. Sure, you can buy the loads pre-built, but the ones I've seen here are just so much nicer. Keep up the good work, gang!

Ken,

EJ&E and BS are/were both owned by the same parent corporation. EJ&E sent 2 or 3 GP38-2, to Alabama in the late '80's/early '90's. They were never fully repainted and all had returned to the EJ&E by the mid '90's. I will confirm numbers and dates when I lay my hands on my BS-first 100 years book.

Looks like the guy is looking up at the person that built the layout. Hmmm, do our scale people realize we are their creators. I sure hope not. I may be in big trouble[;)] [:p][:p]

Great pictures. Ken those pictures of your engines scream EJ&E [tup]

I have played with the BW type pictures and I sometimes see a more realistic image.
