Just teasing you based on some other threads. Reminds me of the time I attended a charity fund raiser. It was a Casino night, getting late and I didn't want to leave while I still had some play money left, so I figured I'd just blow it real fast. Played black jack, took a hit while holding 17, drew a 4, took a hit on 18, drew a 3, when to roulette (sp?) put it all on 00 and won. If I could only do that with real money!!

ENJOY!

Dave

P.S. I'm also thinking that you weren't all that upset about getting the engine and running the risk of having too many engines (is that possible?).

I dunno, but I think I'm done with sniping, I'll check Ebay every few weeks, and just throw a bid in when I see the item at the price I want. This is the second one in a row I've won like that - the previous being the undec Atlas RS-3, now if Walthers would just get the ^%*$ paint in stock and ship it to my LHS where it's been on order for over a month and a half now.... then I can paint this one AND the MDC one.
I REALLY didn't want to spend any money, not with that $300 T-1 on order. Maybe I'll just give this to the wife and have her put it away til Christmas, I have plenty of other railroad related things I need to do more than decoder and run another loco. Like fini***he yard, build the matrix controller for said yard, install fascias, build control panels, fini***he track plan, start the expansion, etc. etc.

I've never been disappointed with anything I've purchased via ebay from MBKlein.

I put a DH163L0 in my other one, witha little filing of the frame. Roundabout way to see my pictures of it, hit the DCC section of my web site and there is a link to the photo album showing it. I didn't even whip out the Dremel for it, just used a hand file. No light bulbs to change. Dunno what I'm going to do with this one, maybe put LEDs and use one of the small decoders like the TCS M series, or just do the same as the other one, or put LEDs in it and use one of my NCE D13SRJ's - probably enough room without filing anything if I do away with that massive plug.
It's another $5 for shipping, fair price. I've won other auctions from Klein, plus purchased stuff both mailorder and in person at the Timonium show. When I see it's them, I don't worry about bidding.

Bruce,

Bruce Petrarca from Litchfield Station recommended a Z-decoder (1 amp) for my S1 decoder install. Didn't have to hog out anything. You're right though. There sure isn't much room under there. I still don't see how Bruce squeezed a speaker and sound decoder in that thing.

Hey, Randy!

There's a great web site that has a tutorial for isolating that S1 - i.e. pictures and descriptions. Sorry I don't have the direct link in front of me...[;)] [:p] [(-D]

Tom

P.S. Randy, does the $27 include S&H? Boy, I wish I could get another number of that S1 for my layout. The other two were built in the late 40's/early 50's - a little too late for my era. [sigh]

Randy, what decoder are you putting in the S1? Once you plug it in, can you get the shell back on unmodified, or do you have to attack something with a Dremel? My LHS sold me a "recommended" decoder (don't have the number in front of me, DH163 maybe?) which plugs in and fits on length and width, but it's an eighth of an inch higher than the original circuit board I removed.

Yes, I did. Now my #50 will have a companion in #53. All for $27! MB Klein does it again.

Sheesh, yet another orange wire to add... [:D][:D]

spur of the moment looking at Ebay again, found the second number of my P2K S-1 with only a few hours to go, at only $25. Threw ina bid, what the heck, I'm not goign to sit around waiting for the last second to bid. Didn't think I could POSSIBLY get high bid with my low number, but...here I sit, still high bidder with only a couple of minutes left. Every other one I've tracked has gone for WAY higher, here I haven't evenb LOOKED at Ebay in weeks and there it is. I really don't need any more locos right now.. but at my price it's a steal.
